Nervous about your first maternity photoshoot? Learn exactly what to expect, from wardrobe and posing to the final gallery.
If you've never had a professional photoshoot before, it's completely normal to feel a little nervous. Many expecting mothers tell me they're excited but also wonder what the experience will be like.
The truth is, your maternity session should feel relaxed, enjoyable, and memorable. My goal is to guide you every step of the way so you can simply enjoy this special moment while we create timeless portraits together.
Before Your Session
Once you've booked your maternity session, we'll begin planning every detail together.
We'll discuss:
Your preferred photography style
Wardrobe choices
Color palette
Whether your partner or children will join
Any inspiration images you'd like to share
Planning ahead ensures your session feels personal and reflects your unique story.
Choosing Your Wardrobe
One of the biggest advantages of booking with Anjeza Dyrmishi Photography is access to a carefully curated maternity wardrobe.
You'll be able to choose from a variety of elegant gowns, flowing fabrics, and timeless pieces designed specifically for maternity photography.
I recommend bringing:
Nude seamless underwear
A strapless bra
Simple jeans if you'd like a casual look
Everything else is available at the studio.
Arriving at the Studio
When you arrive, we'll take a few minutes to talk through your outfit choices and the flow of the session.
There's no need to rush.
The studio environment is calm, private, and designed to help you feel comfortable from the very beginning.
This is your time to slow down, relax, and enjoy the experience.
Don't Worry About Posing
One of the first things almost every client says is:
"I don't know how to pose."
The good news is—you don't have to.
Throughout the session, I'll guide you through every pose, every hand placement, and every movement.
My goal is to create natural, elegant portraits that flatter your body and highlight your beautiful baby bump.
No modeling experience is required.
Including Your Partner and Children
If your partner or older children are joining the session, we'll photograph a variety of combinations.
Some of the most meaningful images often include:
Quiet embraces
Hands on your baby bump
Family hugs
Natural interactions
Gentle moments between siblings and the baby
These photographs tell the story of your growing family and often become clients' favorite memories.
Enjoy the Experience
Your maternity session isn't about being perfect.
It's about celebrating your pregnancy.
Laugh.
Relax.
Take a deep breath.
These moments are genuine, and that's exactly what makes them beautiful.
Some of the best photographs happen in between poses, when you're simply enjoying the moment with your loved ones.
After Your Session
Once your session is complete, I'll carefully select the best images and professionally edit each one.
Every photograph receives detailed attention to ensure your final gallery reflects the timeless, elegant style my studio is known for.
You'll then receive your gallery to choose your favorite images included in your package.
If you fall in love with every photograph, you'll also have the option to purchase the complete gallery.
Why Professional Maternity Photography Matters
Pregnancy lasts only a few months, but the memories last a lifetime.
Your photographs become a reminder of the love, excitement, and anticipation you felt before meeting your baby.
Years from now, you'll look back at these images and remember exactly how this chapter of your life felt.
One day, your child will look at these portraits and see how deeply they were loved before they were even born.
